Jean started teaching in Isle in 1998 and her licensures include pre-kindergarten, K-12 Learning Disabilities, K-12 Mild to Moderate Mentally HDCP, K-12 Moderate to Severe Mentally HDCP, Teacher/Coordinator Work Experience, K-12 Experimental Programs and she is CTE certified.

She has a Bachelor of Science, SCSU 1982 in Special Education and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.

Jean Novak currently heads up the Areal Learning Center and the work experience program. She teaches job skills and is the Senior Class Advisor.  Jean also teaches GED courses for adult education. She is active in the CLC Bridging Program and CTE licensure and promotion for the region.

Jean is a mentor, a leader and an inspiration. She makes connections and is tough, fair and consistent.

Jean is retiring from Isle School this year and they know she will find a passion project in the future that impacts students and adults alike. Once a teacher always a teacher!
